So Valentines Day is over & your roses may be starting to look a bit sad face by now (hopefully not, if you're a good carer, but its inevitable)
What to do with them you ask? Throw them in the bin? A bit of a tragic end to such beauty if you ask me! I've compiled a little list of ways to use your petals to get the most out of the bunch of love you received on Feb 14:
Sprinkle them in your bath.
How luxurious it would be to bathe in a tub full of rose petals! Grab some wine, your favourite book and relax... and hey, maybe extend Valentines Day for a little bit :)
Rose Petal face mask
Rose masks cool & soothe the skin, and are super easy to make! Soak about 8 petals in 4 tablespoons of water for a couple of hours. Mash the petals in the water and add 3 tablespoons of honey, mix well & apply to your entire face. Leave it on for up to 30 minutes, rinse with cool water & voilà! Beautiful fresh skin.
Get super crafty!
As you may know by now, I love anything that encourages recycling and is good for the environment. If you're a crafty type, why not make your own paper with your dried rose petals? You can use scraps of anything - paper, cardboard... and make them into something special. Perhaps you could even pen your Valentine a love note on your beautiful handiwork. The instructions for DIY paper can be found over at the Fairegarden blog.
I hope you enjoyed (are still enjoying) your Valentines Day bunches, and if you do choose to recycle those petals, be sure to share the love on my instagram page @flowers_by_rhi
